Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is a healthcare profession specializing in movement-based injury rehabilitation and prevention. Physiotherapy can help optimize your mobility and function through a variety of techniques including:
- Manual therapy
- Massage and fascial mobilization
- Strength and conditioning exercise
- Movement pattern retraining
- Education
- Electrophysical agents (e.g. TENS, heat, ice)
- Taping and bracing

Physiotherapy sessions are one-on-one and individualized to your specific needs. Your treatment plan will be based on your concerns, goals, medical history, physical assessment, and response to treatment.

Emily graduated with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2020. Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and a Certificate in Health and Fitness Studies from Simon Fraser University.

Her background as a competitive dancer influences her approach to treatment of posture and movement dysfunction. She uses an integrative, evidence-based treatment approach that considers all body systems.

Emily is continuously studying to further understand the human body and health conditions. Her areas of additional training include: - Assessment and treatment of dancers and artistic athletes - Bike fitting - Bobath concept - Dry needling (anatomical acupuncture & intramuscular stimulation) - Graston Technique therapy - Vestibular rehabilitation - Yoga (YTT 200)

Emily founded Movement For Life Physiotherapy with the objective of helping people achieve a state of health and wellness such that they can maintain lifelong participation in the work, life, and recreational activities that they love.
